Mountain landscapes meet sub-tropical oasis

Phil and Judy decided to build in Millwater after considering a number of sites on the North Shore.

After looking initially for land we spoke with Mandy Mitten, Sales and Pre-Construction Manager from Madison Park Homes and visited a number of their projects to observe the build quality and options available.

We narrowed down the land choice to two sites, one in Schnapper Rock and the second in Millwater. While Millwater was further from the city, it won out because of the views, the environment and care that had gone into designing the subdivision.

Madison Park Homes have been awesome to work with. Nothing was a problem; we were given advice and plenty of time to consider changes throughout the design process, and we weren’t rushed to make decisions. We appreciated that.

For the design brief we knew we wanted to blend inspiration from the rugged and beautiful landscapes of Central Otago, the Mackenzie country and the Athabasca River in the Canadian Rockies, while also creating a sub-tropical oasis that would be functional in the coastal environment.

Using Madison’s designer and specialist engineering consultants we were also able to integrate the design from our landscape architect and the requirements from our pool builder.

What was important to us was function over form. We wanted a quality build – peace of mind that it was being designed for the future and that it was well-constructed to the current design and building standards.

Impressive about Madison Park Homes was that nothing was a problem. Steve, the director, and the team have been outstanding every step of the way throughout the project. We love our new home – it’s everything we dreamed of and more.
